Casey S. Lee

Casey S. Lee

Casey Lee is a fiddle player, teacher, composer, and multi-instrumentalist from Saline, Michigan. She is
currently the fiddler for the bluegrass-adjacent band, House With a Yard—whose self-released album
Carousel came out in 2019; her playing on the album has been described as “hauntingly delicious”.
Casey also enjoys collaborating with other local artists including Venture Still and the Charlie Stevens
Band. Prior to moving to Colorado, she worked as a dance fiddler for Michigan music festivals and
performed, recorded, and toured with Dragon Wagon, Ghost City Searchlight, and Top Hats and
Monocles. Additionally, she has been grateful to share the stage with artists such as Mark O’Connor and
Sam Bush as part of her time with the internationally touring Saline Fiddlers, with whom she recorded,
performed, and toured in high school.
In addition to her work across old-time, bluegrass, rock, Klezmer, and metal styles, Casey's two decades
of orchestral experience includes her role as Concertmaster of the CSU Concert Orchestra since 2018.
She is pursuing a Ph.D in Ecology at CSU, and has degrees in Biology and Environmental Studies from
Oberlin College. As a teacher, Casey maintains a private studio and has coached workshops in
improvisation, back-up techniques, and the integration of progressive stylistic elements into traditional
music.
